A Short Note on Swaps or Ingredients:
*While I cannot guarantee that using these swaps will yield the same flavors I have create in this recipe, these swaps should generally work well!*
-
When it comes to deli meat, watch the ingredients! If you're in the strict phase of the AIP you'll need to be sure there are not added processed sugars, "spices" that may contain nightshades or gluten, potato starches and other less than healthy additives/preservatives. Some of the brands I like to use that are clean include Trader Joes Organic turkey and ham, Plainville Farms Honey Maple ham or Principe mortadella.
-
If you're sensitive to eggs or in the strict phase of the AIP, used my Egg Free Garlic Aioli. Alternatively you can use a healthy mayo, like avocado oil mayo instead if you're not sensitive to eggs or in the strict phase of the AIP.

Quick-N-Easy Ham & Turkey Wrap
(gluten free & AIP friendly)
Prep time: 5 minutes Cook time: none Yield: 1
Ingredients:
-
6 organic romaine lettuce leaves.
-
1 organic collard green leaf, spine removed
-
3 slices of Trader Joe’s organic turkey breast (always check ingredients for AIP compliancy!).
-
3 slices of Plainville Farms Honey Maple ham or Principe mortadella (always check ingredients for AIP compliancy!).
-
½ a small organic cucumber, sliced into sticks
-
½ a small avocado, sliced
-
1-2 tbsp. of my Egg-Free Garlic Aioli or avocado oil mayo
Equipment Needed to Create this Recipe:
-
parchment paper
-
a good knife
How to Create this Recipe:
-
Fold a piece large of parchment paper in half and then lay out 3 of the romaine leaves, overlapping slightly.
-
Next, lay down the collard green leaf over the romaine.
-
Spread the garlic aioli over the leaves.
-
Then, lay down the turkey and ham slices, trying to cover most of the greens. Follow this by adding the avid laid and cucumber to the center.
-
Next you’ll roll your wrap up. You can do this like a burrito. Closing the ends up and then rolling it tightly in the parchment paper. It should look like a wrapped burrito now.
-
Cut the burrito in half and Ta-dah!
-
Enjoy!!
